"I am a dreamer, a visionary and a grinder, with a capital G."

William Heredia, aka Fokis, is an up-and-coming hip-hop artist whose multi-talented approach to the music industry paves way for a lengthy and successful career in hip-hop. A Dominican by origin he comes from New York's Lower East Side of Manhattan where he began his career in production and engineering, and soon enough branched off to rap.

Currently promoting his latest project, Road to the Riches, Fokis has developed a reality show where a hip-hop artist sets himself a goal to land a record deal in less than a year. With a vision and a purpose, the show will give viewers insight into the stress, difficulties and rewards reaped by artists keen and ambitious enough to pursue a career in the hip-hop industry. "I want people to know my story and understand my struggle.  People need to see what it really takes to make it happen in the music business."  And what is a reality show about hip-hop without hip-hop?  To drive home the purpose of the reality show itself, Fokis releases a soundtrack, Road to the Riches Vol. 1, hosted by DJ Absolut as it showcases this rapper's skills not only on the mic but also on the production and mixing ends.

Fokis's experience consistently expands with his work ethic.  While working full time mixing records as a CEO of Loyalty Records, his roster of collaborations expands gracefully while it includes Kool G Rap, Joe Budden, Killah Priest and Hell Razah.  Fokis has also worked with notable producers in the hip-hop industry, such as Focus, Charlemagne and Dahoud.  Through his ear for business and eye for entrepreneurship, Fokis has pushed over 9,000 CDs and digital downloads including his Fully Focused mix-tape, hosted by Focus/Aftermath Entertainment, his debut album, More Than One Way and WXYZ Presents FOKIS, the mix-tape.  Aside from possessing a charismatic stage presence which has seen Fokis open shows for Common Sense, M.O.P. and the Beatnuts, he has also completed tours in both the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

His ability to engage in and maintain productive working relationships brought about his recent project The 20/20 EP which saw him align with his namesake once again and deliver a top quality project which was featured on sites such as HipHopDX, NahRight, 2DopeBoyz, DubCNN, HipHopGame and many more. Delivering his rhymes over a bevy of beats from the Aftermath producer, the EP has to date been downloaded just short of 13,000 times. Due to the demand and undeniable success there will be a Part Two from the duo in 2009; something to look forward to.

His path is a marketable vision that includes both rapping, mixing and production, all of which Fokis incorporates with the modern media, landing him deals such as his own channel on sandboxtv.com.  Understanding hip-hop from more than a mere perspective of a rapper, Fokis enters the game head-on, with a passion and a purpose.  "I am a dreamer, a visionary, and a grinder with a capital G. Find a way to get it done is what I live by."
